Commander Basics

A quick orientation to cities, units, resources, research, and readying your turn.

Your empire dashboard

The game screen is split into empire alerts, the tactical hex map, and detailed side panels for selected cities or units. Start each session by reading the top bar for resource income, checking the timeline for recent events, and selecting any unit or city marked as idle.

New commanders should focus on three loops: explore with scouts, grow with cities, and convert resources into research, units, and buildings. If you are unsure what to do, choose one nearby objective and make every order support it for the next two rounds.

Session flow

  1. Review events and chat.
  2. Resolve idle units and city production.
  3. Pick or confirm research.
  4. Preview risky battles.
  5. Ready your turn and watch the next round unfold.
