The Amber Vale

The Amber Vale grew from market towns built where shallow rivers crossed old stone roads. Their rulers measure power in granaries, milestones, and signed oaths as much as in spears. Vale scouts are trained to map trade routes before enemy armies can burn them.

In court histories, the Vale is described as patient but never passive. They prefer to surround a rival with roads, outposts, and promises before declaring open war. When diplomacy fails, their frontier captains already know which bridges must fall first.
