THE WORLD OF VEYRLANDS
A New Age Begins in an Old World
The first civilizations of Rebirth will not enter an empty realm. They inherit landscapes crossed before them, ruins reused by forgotten generations, roads older than surviving maps and objects whose original meanings have been lost. The past is present everywhere — but rarely in one reliable version.
In Veyrlands, old evidence survives more often than old certainty.
The world keeps moving
Every settlement, expedition, market shift, and regional power leaves a visible mark on the realm.
BEFORE THE FIRST AGE
The world has a past. Your realm does not yet have its history.
Rebirth separates inherited world lore from the history created inside each realm. Mountains, ruins, roads and old stories may already exist when the First Age begins. Which cities rise beside them, which routes matter again and which explanations become accepted belong to the civilizations that follow.
HOW TO READ THE OLD WORLD
Nothing survives alone. Every clue becomes stronger — or stranger — beside another.
The lore of Veyrlands is deliberately interconnected. A road on one page may appear in a cartographer's correction on another. A tower theory may depend on a route that later maps dispute. An ordinary object may preserve a place name that disappeared everywhere else. The world becomes clearer through comparison, but rarely simpler.

Repeated proportions suggest a pattern. Contradictory surveys keep ruining the cleanest explanations.

Lore is inherited. History is earned.
World lore records what survived into the opening of a realm: places, remnants, contradictions and old names. The World Chronicle records what happens next. Discoveries, alliances, wars, cities and catastrophes can become the evidence later generations inherit from the civilizations playing today.
World lore
Inherited
Places, remnants and disputed stories exist before player history.
Realm history
Created
Civilizations give old places new uses, meanings and conflicts.
Chronicle
Persistent
Important events can outlive the civilization that caused them.
The distinction leaves room for both mystery and consequence. The Hollow Towers do not need one canonical answer before a realm begins. The Amber Vale does not need one rightful owner. An old road does not need to promise a scripted destination.
Instead, the inherited world provides evidence. Players provide decisions. Over time, the difference between the two becomes the history of that realm.
Inherit the evidence. Write what comes next.
Start with the Amber Vale, then follow its roads, maps, towers and relics deeper into the old world.
